Clawdbot is licensed under the MIT License. You are free to:

3. Acceptable Use

You MAY:

You MAY NOT:

  • Use Clawdbot for illegal activities
  • Violate third-party API terms (Claude, OpenAI, etc.)
  • Scrape or abuse our website
  • Impersonate Clawdbot AI or its contributors
  • Distribute malware or harmful code
⚠️ Important: When using Clawdbot with Claude API or other AI services, you must comply with their respective Terms of Service. Clawdbot AI is not responsible for violations of third-party terms.

4. Third-Party Services

Clawdbot integrates with:

  • Anthropic Claude API - Terms
  • OpenAI API (optional) - Terms
  • WhatsApp, Telegram, Discord - Follow their respective terms

You are responsible for obtaining necessary API keys and complying with provider terms.

5. Website Usage

Permitted:

  • Reading documentation and tutorials
  • Downloading code from GitHub
  • Participating in community discussions

Prohibited:

  • Automated scraping or crawling (except search engines)
  • DDoS attacks or service disruption
  • Posting spam or malicious links

6. Disclaimers

AS-IS Software

Clawdbot is provided "AS IS" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee:

  • Uninterrupted or error-free operation
  • Compatibility with all systems
  • Fitness for a particular purpose
  • Security vulnerabilities will be absent

AI Assistant Limitations

Clawdbot uses AI models that may:

  • Generate inaccurate information
  • Produce biased or offensive content
  • Fail to understand context correctly
  • Execute commands with unintended consequences

Always review AI actions before execution, especially destructive commands.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Clawdbot AI and its contributors are not liable for:

  • Data loss or corruption
  • System damage or downtime
  • Financial losses
  • Third-party API costs
  • Security breaches in self-hosted instances

8. API Key Security

You are responsible for:

  • Keeping your API keys secure
  • Monitoring API usage and costs
  • Rotating compromised keys immediately
  • Using environment variables (never hardcode keys)
Security Best Practice: Store API keys in .env files and add them to .gitignore. Never commit keys to version control.

9. Contributions

By contributing to Clawdbot (code, documentation, issues):

  • You grant us a perpetual, worldwide license to use your contribution
  • Your contribution will be licensed under the MIT License
  • You confirm you have rights to the contributed content
  • You agree to our Contribution Guidelines

10. Privacy

Your use of Clawdbot is subject to our Privacy Policy. Key points:

  • Self-hosted instances: We collect NO data
  • Website: Anonymous analytics only
  • API keys: Stored locally, never transmitted to us

11. Termination

We may:

  • Remove content that violates these terms
  • Ban users who abuse our services
  • Discontinue services with reasonable notice

You may stop using Clawdbot at any time by uninstalling the software.

12. Changes to Terms
